    • Check out the raw carbon body of the Ferrari 488 GTE race car

Whoa. Nothing quite like raw carbon fiber, right? This is the Ferrari 488 GTE race car which will compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Teams will also run it at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in various GT3 racing classes. AF Corse is expected to field a 488 GTE in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Basically, a lot of teams are going to be running the new Ferrari which is boosted and shares the same basic twin turbo 3.9 liter V8 powerplant as its streetcar sibling.

All we know at this point is it looks badass. No doubt teams will utilize various liveries but there is something to be said for how mean it looks in its bare form.

Do we know if this car is using the dual clutch in the 488 street car or a sequential gearbox?

I haven't seen the full breakdown of specifications on the 488 GTE but from various tidbits it seems a sequential gearbox is used which is no surprise.

I'm not sure which GTE or GT3 class even allows a dual clutch transmission.
