Expect front page downtime - Fixing load time

You may have noticed it takes a while to load any of the front pages.

Once loaded, articles and everything else are brought up quickly.

I am working to resolve this but there will be downtime as the front page is rebuilt essentially from scratch.

The forum will function as normal in the meantime.

I was going to mention this to you a few months back, I'm pretty well versed with websites, the stats say if your site isn't 100% loaded in 3-5 seconds the bounce rate goes through the roof. Lots of videos and back ground scripts really slow down the load time for the page. Did you ever speed test it using googles tool?

Yeah I've been aware of it for a while it's just the fix is complex and expensive. I just finally bit the bullet as Google is killing me.

I should have done it a while ago but at least now I have an excuse to overhaul several things.

I always thought it was some anti-ddos measure to limit the anti-trump trolls.

It was but over time it broke. Amazing the lengths people take to try to hurt a car forum though, eh?

Expect several other things to get fixed shortly and some amazing new features to be rolled out during our late Spring cleaning.

Hope the new system is working well for everyone.

Next up is fixing the Instagram embedding issues, then mobile, then launching dynographs.com
